Fraser started his musical career at an early age, performing in public for the first time at the age of 6, playing the drum, with Newland Concert Brass Band. He played both trumpet and drumkit with the West Lothian Jazz Band, until concentrating on kit when he began the BA in Applied Music at Strathclyde. He had his ‘Scottish Music’ debut with Islay McTaggart in the Scarinish Hotel on Tiree at the age of 15, teaming up with Daniel a couple of years later. He enjoyed some success throughout Europe with the rock band ‘Lexxi’ until Skerryvore really began to establish themselves. His style is influenced by a variety of genres, from jazz to rock.
